In November, Kids Helping Kids went on
a mission to raise $1200 to help Basics For Babies. Basics For Babies
helps provide food and diapers for babies that live in poverty.
First, we planned out the things we
were going to do in order to raise all that money. We decided to
have a jellybean count, a store, a bake sale, a raffle, and we sold
chocolate bars. We became successful. In fact we surpassed our goal!
At
first, we had our jellybean count. The winners were Nikki from Division
4 and Cheryl From Division 1. They decided to split it since we
didn't have two jars.
The two major events
that raised the most money were the bake sale and the store. It
was very successful. The line ups were long and the money just kept
pouring in.
Last but not least, the raffle.
It didn't go so well. It was pretty slow. But it still helped. The
winner was Levana Huang from our class, Division 6.
Raising
money was an awesome experience but also tiring. But it was for
a good cause. We felt proud because 27 kids from Division 6 and
a little work made a difference in just one month. We would definitely
do it again! In fact we will be helping another charity later this
year.
