The Spawner Stage

Hi! I'm a spawner now. My life is almost to an end. It is now late autumn. Females often fight for the best places to make a redd, while we fight other males for the females. When the female has found a place to lay the eggs she digs 10-30 cm deep. Once the eggs are layed I put a milky fluid on the egg, which fertilizes it. Then I die. Once the eggs hatch, they eat me. That's the life cycle of my life as a salmon.
