My most special memory of Burnaby Village is when I rode on the Carousel. When I was on one of the horses I felt like I was flying. Also it made me dream. My most farouite part was when I got to sit beside my friends. The hores that I rode was tall. I had lots of trouble getting up on it so I put my hand up and a man who was wearing a red shirt helped me to get up on the wooden horse. The Carousel was really fun. I wanted to ride on it again. Our class atteneded Seaforth School
at Heritage Village on May 30,2005. When we gazed at Seaforth School
we thought the building was made of bricks, but it was really made
out of wood. This school has a chimney and the top of the roof was
not painted. There was only one entrance and there were stairs in
front of the door. This one-room schoolhouse has a window frame
made of wood. Inside the schoolhouse is a picture of Queen Elizabeth's
grandparents. The desks in the classroom was in rows. Ink wells
were dug in our desks. There was a bell in the classroom where the
teacher rings the bell for recess, lunch and hometime. Serena and
I felt uncomfortable when we had to sit up striaght all the time.
We also felt nervous when the teacher asked us a question. Serena
and I were very glad that we went to Heritage Village and we felt
like we were just in 1925. |
Our class atteneded Seaforth School at
Heritage Village on May 30 and we observed the school. Seaforth
School only has one classroom. the dess are attached to one another.
there was less light in the classroom. This one-room schoolhouse
had pictures of the king and queen hung on their walls and there
are four grades. Stilts for playing at recess were in the coatroom.
There were more hooks in this coatroom than the hooks in ours. The
classroom was separated from the coatroom. This school is made of
wood. There are smaller windows compared to ours. It felt strnage
and tiring to stand up on the right side of our desks everytime
we were asked a question. How uncomfortable and strange it felt
to write with a nib pen using the right hand, even if somebody was
left-handed! Jasmin and both felt nervous on the stilts. We
felt terribly unsteady. Jasmin and I had a great time at Seaforth
School, even if we felt just a little scared. Mostly, we felt overjoyed! |

My special memory of Burnaby Village is the Carousel. I had a brown horse. At the back of the saddle it had a fish with green eyes and gray fins. It felt like I was on a real horse. The horse had jewels on its saddle. The tail was white as snow. The horse felt like it was flying swifty. What I like about the Carousel is that it's exciting. The horse was covered with little bows. It was so much fun that I wanted to ride it again. When I got off, the other class went on. Bonnie Zheng |
My most vivid memory of our field trip to Burnaby Village is
when we went to the Carousel. When we were standing outside I was
so excited. When we went inside I was sitting on the same horse
that was on the ledge of the chalkboard in out classroom at
Norquay School. Bonnie was sitting beside me and Naomi and Mrs.
Joseph were behind me. After, when Mrs. Holland's class was on the
Carousel, Serena was sitting on Bonnie's horse, Fiona (Celia's cousin)
was on mine, Tiffany was sitting on the one beside Serena. When
I was getting off my horse I felt I was going to fall down. My horse
was tall. |
My most vivid memory of Burnaby Village is playing marbles. I
got the marble in the "ten" hole three times. I got thirty
marbles. I won! Then we played a rematch. Kevin and I were tied!
Kevin got another ten marbles! I got ten marbles too. Kevin and
I were tied again! I said this is "fundamental". Kevin
laughed. Gurpreet Randhawa |

My special memory of Burnaby Village was in the Love family farmhouse in the kitchen. I was Jessies Love, the father. I felt like the master of the whole house. Justin, Gurpreet, and others had to chop wood and bring the wood in for the stove. Kevin Tse |
My most vivid memory of the Burnaby Village is the Carousel. I remember when I tried to get on the horse the first time but it didn't work. I tried again. This time it worked! When I first got on the horse it felt like it was slanted back. When the horse moved it felt even more slanted then ever! It was going up and down, around and around, up and down. When it went really fast, it felt like a real horse-except it's not warn and it's saddle is fake. Michael Zhong |
My special memory of Burnaby Village is being in the Bell's Dry Goods. I got to be Flora, the clerk. Junisa and Kevin pretended to be customer. Kevin had a basket and Junisa had a list of things that they needed. The first thing on the list was six small, brown buttons. I quickly found them all in the basket. I had so much fun! When I found all the things on the list, the lady who was there with us asked Rebecca and Jeffrey to try on some old-fashioned hats. The old-fashioned hats looked funny compared to the hats we wear now. When we went to the back of the building, where the Bells lived, I thought, "What a small place this is!" I really liked Bell's Dry Goods Store. Veronica Gukova |
