Mrs. Holland is retiring from teaching. Mrs. Holland has taught hundreds of Grade Three students at Norquay School. We thank her for those many years of caring and guidance.
Mrs. Maldanado is retiring from teaching. Mrs. Maldanado, who many years ago came to Canada from Chile where she spoke mostly Spanish, understands the problems and needs of ESL students. She has been our ESL Resource Teacher for many years, helping new Canadian students to learn to speak and read English.
Ms. Nemeth has been our vice principal for only two years, but she has had a profound effect on our school. In September, she is moving on to Roberts Annex. We thank her for all that she has done for the students, parents and staff at Norquay, and wish her well at Roberts Annex.
Mr. Fast, our very popular and longest-serving SEA, is off to Toronto to study. But he promises to be back after one year. We look forward to his return.
Mr. Smith had been a mainstay of our physical education program at Norquay, and he has been a very important part of the daily life of our school. Mr. Smith will be teaching at Kerrisdale School in September. We will miss him.
