S.o.D - Sentence of the Day

S.o.D stand for sentence of the day. It helps your grammar. For instance you circle nouns, put a rectangle around adjective, underline verbs, put a triangle around pronouns, and put a diamond around adverbs.  Mr. Smith writes a sentence and we find all the nouns, adjectives, verbs, pronouns, and adverbs.  When we're done we to up to the blackboard and make corrections.  Sometimes Mr. Smith even puts in spelling mistakes.  Some words are really tricky. Don't get tricked by Mr. Smith!  Mostly S.o.D is about people in our class and events. Irene Y.

S.o.D helps us learn how to write better. For example: it helps us learn where and when to use capitals and punctuation, and it helps us identifiy nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs and articles. S.o.D is very helpful. Anh N.

S.o.D means Sentence of the Day. It helps you understand what is a verb, adjectives, nouns, and pronouns.  Each morning Mr. Smith writes a sentence on the blackboard without any punctuation and no capitals. We copy the sentence on to our notebook and put the punctuation on the correct place and the capitals. We circle the noun and underline the verb, draw a box around the adjective and draw a triangle around the pronoun.
