About the Senior Girls

The senior girls team has nine players: three guards, two centers, and four forwards. Ranjita Gadey, Charmaine Loro, Angela Le, Phung Ngyuen, Rebecca To, Clara Lam, Candy So, Vanessa Lee-Chun, and Mumta Karra. Their dedicated coach is Mr. Smith. Charmaine, Ranjita, and Candy are the guards, Mumta and Phung are the centers, and the forwards are Angela, Rebecca, Vanessa, and Clara.

Zone Championship

The zone finals were held at Windermere Secondary School. For the girls it lasted from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, February 16. The senior girls played Tecumseh School first and beat them and knocked them out of the tournament. Then they went on to beat Carleton and Carleton got knocked out. Then they versed Cunningham school and were down three points 15-12 then Ranjita scores two points and Candy scored two and they were winning by two points with seven seconds to go. The girls thought they had won the game. Everyone was jumping up and down when a girl from Cunningham walked in and scored a layup at the buzzer. So the Norquay senoir girls lost to Cunningham School 17-16 on a buzzer beater.
All the girls played very well. Charmaine, Ranjita, and Candy were the playmakers. Mumta and Phung were the rebounding centers. Vanessa, Clara, Angela, and Rebecca were the screening forwards.
