Phone lines had not yet reached Norquay School.  The P.T.A. suggested that the school wait until the city extended its service before actively pursuing phone service in the building.

Sept. 1929

A crossing guard in the form of a policeman was required at Slocan and Kingsway.  There was no light at this intersection at this time.
